How does the new enter the world? How can one learn to be creative?
The workshop offers the opportunity to gain insight into this, at least in homeopathic doses. It confronts students with forms of knowledge that arise more from doing and creating together and working with concrete materials.
This semester, we are taking our lead from the annual theme of the Centre for Cultural Production "Academic Cannibalism". What is it about? Today, academia faces widespread criticism for creating false expectations, leaving students and faculty in a toxic environment, causing exhaustion among its members, and declining in its ability to foster a productive and informed debate. The term Academic Cannibalism encompasses the pessimistic and gloomy debates prevalent in the media and educational discourse.
The thesis of our annual theme is that this toxic environment is not imposed from the outside, but is produced within the universities themselves. The workshop deals with these forms of mutual self-consumption in the university. Together with the artist Sonja Alhäuser and the architect and artist Apolonija Šušteršic, it prepares a cannibalistic meal and designs a bar counter for the summer party.

Lernziele:
Through practical exercises led by the artists, the students gain experience and expand their skills in relation to the processes used to develop creative ideas. The aim is to familiarise students with artistic knowledge and working techniques and to use them to become more creative. The course encourages students in the development and collaborative hands-on realisation of ideas.
The module aims to sharpen perception and imparts knowledge of alternative forms of knowledge and creativity techniques in the context of university education. Students receive a practical introduction to design skills and a sense of the social situatedness of their actions.
