Course content:
The seminar introduces students to curatorial practices and techniques of displaying. Drawing on a wide range of media such as images, films, texts and events, the seminar will provide a short overview of the history of displaying. By this, the seminar aims to foster a deeper understanding of curatorial practices past and present.
In addition to this rather broad and theoretical introduction another focus will lie on cooperative formats. We will examine projects that aim to create new atmospheres and shed light on curatorial strategies of collaborative curating.

++ ADVICE ++
This seminar is very closely aligned to Andrew McNiven's practical part of the module. It is therefore highly recommended to take the whole module and to choose 121182 | 241182 Curatorial Practice as well.
