#CURATING workshop „The Hafenbahnhof”
Zeppelin University and Zeppelin Museum are offering a cooperative workshop to prepare a small exhibition. It will take part as a ZU|Satz-Format in ST 2019. The exhibition will present archive materials on the architectural history of the Hafenbahnhof Friedrichshafen, which was built in the style of “Neue Sachlichkeit”. The show – developed by the seminar-participants – serves as a satellite exhibition to be shown in the museum's ZeppLab in April 2019. It is intended to serve as a historical excursion to the exhibition IDEAL STANDARD. Speculations on Bauhaus today.
Students will have the great opportunity to participate in the preparation and realization of a small museum exhibition, the project is an excellent introduction into curatorial practise.
After an introduction to Bauhaus architecture by Prof. Dr. Karen van den Berg and a selection of historical images and text material, the participants will conceive, develop and build a display, guided by the team of the Zeppelin Museum. The project will be carried out in collaboration with and under the practical direction of raumlaborberlin, and Dominik Busch, Head of the Public Discourse Department at the Zeppelin Museum.
Educational objective:
The students learn to curate an exhibition from archive material.
