Modulbeschreibung:
The disciplinary border separating economy, politics, management and culture in former times becomes blurred, multidisciplinarity wins increasingly in meaning. Information and communication technologies as a driver of these changes become more and more relevant in the management oriented political and administrative sciences. To understand the new challenges resulting from this development, students are getting an introduction to public sector informatics and business informatics in this module.

By the use of selected concepts, models and tools the different functionalities, operation areas and chances of modern information and communication technologies are demonstrated for administrative and business praxis.

Thus a basic understanding is produced for organisational process and the use of computers and IT-systems to the fulfilment of public tasks and economic interests.

The students receive a general idea about the possible field of application of information and communication technologies in political, administrative and economical context. They are enabled to work independently with new models and technologies and to apply this knowledge to existing political, administrative and economic theories and context.

The programming of computers is no component of the module.
