Course content:
Goal of this course is to provide an overview over machine learning procedures and to understand their functionality, for instance ensemble, error-based, information-based, probability-based, rule-based, and similarity-based algorithms. Possible applications are classifications and predictions. The results will be compared to the results of parametric models like regressions.
Required is basic knowledge in R: read in data, generate variables, conduct descriptive analyses, tests and regression models and to be able to interpret them.
