Course content:
The course provides an introduction to the statistical software R. New methods from the field of machine learning will be applied to political science research questions. Possible applications are text analysis, classification and prediction of data.
Educational objective:
Goal of this course is to provide an overview over machine learning procedures and to understand their functionality, for instance ensemble, error-based, information-based, probability-based, rule-based, and similarity-based algorithms.
