Course content:
The course provides an introduction to statistics by using examples and exercises.
Topics covered:
- basic principles of probabilty theory
- descriptive and inference statistics
- univariate and bivariate statistics
- measures of association for variables with different scale levels
A tutorial for practicing will be given in addition to the course.
Educational objective:
Goal of the class is to provide an overview over descriptive and inductive statistics. Starting with univariate descriptions, we will stepwise expand to bivariate analyses.

Midterm: The midterm consists of course-accompanying mandatory exercises in Dynexite and is an independent examination to which § 19 paragraph 2 of the ASPO applies. Passing the midterm is a requirement for admission to the exam.
Exam: written exam.
