Course content:
In this course, basic and advanced methods of qualitative research in organizational studies will be taught. The focus will be on applied qualitative research based on different data collection approaches (e.g., critical incident technique) and on variations of the grounded theory approach for data analysis. Moreover, alternative types of qualitative research methods in organizational research will be introduced.
Educational objective:
Students
| are able to independently select and apply qualitative methods in organizational research;
| are able to design, plan, and carry out qualitative data collection and analysis;
| are able to use software for qualitative data analysis;
| are able to evaluate qualitative empirical methods and to critically assess results of qualitative research in organizational studies.
