Lernziele:
The objective of this course is to provide students with the basics of decision and game theory and introduce some of its many applications to politics, economics, business, and public policy. At the conceptual level the course will cover the following topics: preferences and rational choice, decision theory, static games with complete information, dynamic games with complete information, and potentially static and dynamic games with incomplete information. At the substantial level we will use these concepts to study situations of practical relevance, such as insurance, the value of information, public goods, (political) competition, bargaining, war, and signaling.
