Inhalte: If viewed from outside, the Cultural Studies can appear as an elusive discipline: They theorize about nearly everything, come about with a seemingly blurred distinction between method and theory, complicate life whenever they can, produce complex texts that are extremely hard to understand, and produce a scent of ivory tower. The aim of the course is to offer you a view from inside that may alter this perception quite fundamentally. The course focuses on topics, theories – and most of all on thinking.
Lernziele: At the end of the course you will - have acquired a broad understanding of cultural theories. - be able to understand, discuss and question complex theories. - Have acquired a profound insight in some of the most urgent questions of our time and have learned to think about it.
