Inhalte: This course focuses on the methodological foundations and the practical application of qualitative research methods whereby a particular emphasis is placed on case study research methods, interviews and qualitative data analysis. Workshop overview May 23 - Qualitative research designs, especially case study methods - Qualitative interview methods - Crafting interview-based research projects - Developing interview guides - Conducting interviews May 24 - Transcribing qualitative data - Overview of different qualitative data analysis methods - Coding of qualitative data - Software tools to analyze qualitative data Preparation: Various texts will be sent out to participants to be read in advance. Before the course, participants will be given the chance to submit specific questions concerning qualitative research methods that they wish to be addressed in the course. Examination: Participants will be asked to submit a short seminar paper (no longer than 5 pages) three weeks after the course. More information on the topic of the seminar paper will be provided during the course.
