Inhalte:
This Course serves as a broad introduction to the experiment as one key method in Psychology, Business Administration, and Economics research. We will learn why experimental research is important, how it is related to other empirical methods, and how to plan and conduct experiments. We will also discuss the differences between experimental research in Psychology-dominated fields vis-á-vis more Economics-related disciplines.

This course is informative for those, who consider running an experiment during or after their PhD or for those, who simply aim to better understand and review experimental research conducted in their field of studies.

The seminar participants are expected to do a presentation that (i) focuses on their own ideas or plans to conduct experimental research, or (ii) reviews influential experimental research published in the Psychology, Economics, or Finance literature (I will send some examples prior to the start of the seminar to all participants).

Agenda:

Day 1: Broad introduction to experimental research in Psychology and Economics.

Day 2: Workshop character: Participants are invited to submit their work status (in case they aim to conduct an experiment at one point during the PhD or have conducted one in the past) and the most important questions / expectations for the seminar in advance. During the second seminar day appropriate feedback and input will be given and research proposals or ideas will be discussed.
